Touchscreen Not Responding

Anycubic 3D Printer

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

If the Anycubic touchscreen is not responding to touch input, the firmware may have crashed, the screen cable may be loose, or the touch digitiser has failed. Turn the printer off and on again. If that does not help, check the screen cable.

Affected Models

  • Anycubic Kobra 2
  • Anycubic Photon Mono
  • Anycubic Vyper
  • Most Anycubic printers with touchscreens

Common Causes

  • Firmware crash — touchscreen froze
  • Screen ribbon cable loose or disconnected
  • Static discharge affecting the touch controller
  • Moisture or liquid on the screen surface
  • Touch digitiser hardware failure

How to Fix It

  1. Turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.

A simple restart fixes most frozen screen issues.

  2. Clean the touchscreen with a dry cloth.

Moisture, resin, or filament residue on the screen can interfere with touch detection.

  3. Check the screen ribbon cable.

Open the bottom or back panel and make sure the screen cable is firmly connected. A partially seated cable can cause intermittent touch failures.

  4. Update the firmware.

Download the latest firmware from Anycubic's website. Copy it to the SD card and the printer will update on startup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I control the printer without the touchscreen?

Most Anycubic printers cannot be controlled without the touchscreen. Some models support OctoPrint or Cura Connection over USB for remote control.

Can I replace the touchscreen?

Yes. Replacement screens are available from Anycubic. The screen is a separate module that plugs in with a ribbon cable.
