Affected Models
- Elegoo Mars 4
- Elegoo Mars 3
- Elegoo Saturn 3
- Elegoo Saturn 2
Common Causes
- LCD panel worn out from extended UV exposure
- Resin leaked onto the LCD through a damaged FEP
- LCD ribbon cable loose
- Manufacturing defect (dead pixels from new)
- UV LED array overheating and damaging the LCD
How to Fix It
-
Run the LCD test from the menu.
Tools > LCD Test displays a full white screen. Look for dark spots, lines, or dim areas.
-
If dead pixels: check if they affect your print area.
A few dead pixels at the edges may not affect prints. Dead pixels in the center will cause defects in printed models.
-
Check for resin on the LCD surface.
If resin leaked through a damaged FEP, it may have cured on the LCD. Clean carefully with IPA. Hardened resin can permanently damage the panel.
-
Replace the LCD panel.
Elegoo sells replacement LCDs for all models. Replacement takes 15-30 minutes following Elegoo's video guides.
