What Does This Error Mean?

Cosori not detecting the basket is almost always caused by the basket not being pushed all the way in until the safety interlock clicks. Remove the basket and reinsert it firmly until you feel and hear it engage.

How to Fix It

Pull the basket out fully and reinsert it firmly.

Remove the basket completely from the unit. Slide it back in with a firm, steady push until you hear and feel the click of the safety interlock. A partially inserted basket will not trigger the switch — the unit will not start.
Clean the basket rail and drawer cavity.

Grease and food residue accumulate along the basket rail inside the fryer housing, preventing the basket from sliding all the way in. Wipe the rail and inner walls of the cavity with a damp cloth. Also clean the edges of the basket that contact the rails.
Inspect the basket for deformation.

A basket that was dropped or overloaded may have slightly bent sides or a warped base. Place the basket on a flat surface and check that it sits flat. A deformed basket will not fully engage the interlock — contact Cosori for a replacement basket.
Test the safety switch manually.

With the unit unplugged, look inside the drawer cavity for the small safety switch button (typically at the rear of the cavity). Press it with a finger — it should click in and spring back cleanly. A sticky switch that does not spring back is dirty or faulty and needs cleaning or replacement.
Test with a different compatible basket.

If a friend or family member has a compatible Cosori model, test their basket in your fryer. If their basket is detected and yours is not, your basket has a deformation or wear issue. Cosori replacement baskets are available directly from the Cosori website.
