What Does This Error Mean?

A dim Cosori display is usually caused by the standby dimming mode activating after inactivity. Tap the screen or press any button to restore full brightness — this is normal behavior and does not indicate a fault.

Common Causes

  • Standby dimming activated — display dims after 30–60 seconds of inactivity
  • Brightness reduced via VeSync app settings
  • Protective film still on the display from factory packaging
  • Display backlight aging — common after 2+ years of daily use
  • Strong ambient light or direct sunlight reducing perceived contrast

How to Fix It

  1. Tap the screen to exit standby dimming.

    Most Cosori models dim the display when idle for 30–60 seconds to save energy. Tap anywhere on the touchscreen or press any button to restore full brightness. This is expected behavior and does not indicate a fault.

  2. Check the VeSync app for a brightness setting.

    If the Cosori is paired with the VeSync app, open the app, go to Device Settings, and check for a screen brightness or display option. Restore any brightness adjustment to the default level.

  3. Remove the factory display protective film.

    New Cosori units ship with a thin protective plastic film over the display. If the film is still in place, it visibly reduces brightness and clarity. Peel it off carefully starting from one corner.

  4. Move the unit away from direct light.

    In very bright or sunny environments, even a fully lit display can appear dim due to glare. Move the Cosori to a shaded countertop position and recheck the display. If the screen looks normal in lower ambient light, the placement rather than the display is the issue.

  5. Perform a factory reset.

    If the display is persistently dim regardless of activity or ambient light, perform a factory reset. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, or follow the reset procedure in your Cosori model's manual. A reset restores all settings to default, including any display adjustments.

When to Call a Professional

A display that remains dim even after pressing buttons and has not been changed via app settings has a failing backlight. Contact Cosori support for warranty replacement of the control panel assembly.
