Fan Not Working

Cosori Air Fryer

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Cosori air fryer fan not working means the hot air cannot circulate — food will cook unevenly or not at all, and the unit may overheat. Do not use the air fryer without a working fan. Check if food debris is jamming the fan through the top vent before assuming motor failure.

Affected Models

  • Cosori Pro II 5.8 Qt
  • Cosori Pro Gen 2 5 Qt
  • Cosori Dual Blaze
  • Cosori Smart WiFi Air Fryer
  • Most Cosori air fryer models

Common Causes

  • Food debris lodged in the fan blades — a piece of food flew into the vent during cooking
  • Fan motor failure from extended overheating
  • Electrical fault preventing fan from receiving power
  • Basket not properly seated — safety switch prevents fan from running
  • New unit with fan blades stuck from shipping protection

How to Fix It

  1. Check the basket is fully inserted.

Cosori air fryers have a safety switch that prevents the fan from running if the basket is not fully seated. Remove the basket completely, then push it back in firmly until you hear or feel a click. Attempt to start the fryer again.

  2. Look through the top vent for debris.

With the fryer unplugged and cooled, look through the top vent holes into the fan area using a flashlight. If you can see a piece of food, bread crust, or other debris touching the fan blades, use tweezers to carefully remove it. Never insert metal objects while the fryer is plugged in.

  3. Listen for fan sounds on startup.

Plug in and turn on the Cosori. Immediately after pressing start, you should hear the fan begin to spin within 1–2 seconds. If you hear a clicking or grinding sound, something is obstructing the blades. If there is complete silence from the fan area, the motor or its power supply has failed.

  4. Reset the unit.

Unplug the Cosori for 5 minutes, then plug back in. Some models display an error code when the fan fails — note any code on the display and refer to the Cosori manual or support page.

  5. Contact Cosori support under warranty.

Fan motor failure is covered under the Cosori 2-year warranty. Do not attempt to open the unit yourself — the fan motor is directly above the heating element and the interior is not user-serviceable. Contact Cosori support with your model number and purchase date.

When to Call a Professional

Do not attempt to disassemble the Cosori to reach the fan motor — doing so voids the warranty and involves high-voltage components. If the basket is seated correctly and no debris is present, contact Cosori support.
