Timer Not Working / Timer Not Counting Down

Cosori Air Fryer

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Cosori timer not working is usually caused by the Start button not being pressed after setting the time — the timer does not begin until Start is confirmed. Set the time, then press the Start or Play button to begin the countdown.

Affected Models

  • Cosori Pro II 5.8 Qt
  • Cosori Pro Gen 2 5 Qt
  • Cosori Dual Blaze 6.8 Qt
  • Cosori Lite 4 Qt
  • All Cosori air fryer models

Common Causes

  • Start button not pressed after setting the time — timer waits for confirmation
  • Child lock enabled — prevents all control panel input including timer
  • VeSync app command overriding the manual timer setting
  • Software glitch requiring a power cycle reset
  • Faulty touch sensor on the time adjustment button

How to Fix It

  1. Press Start after setting the time.

On all Cosori models, the timer begins only after pressing the Start or Play icon. Set your desired time using the + and - buttons, then press Start. The display will begin counting down immediately after Start is confirmed.

  2. Check for child lock.

The Cosori child lock prevents any control panel input including timer adjustments. On most models, press and hold the lock icon for 3 seconds to toggle child lock off. A padlock symbol on the display indicates child lock is currently active.

  3. Disconnect from the VeSync app during manual use.

When the Cosori is connected to the VeSync app, app-sent commands can override or conflict with manual timer settings. Close the VeSync app or temporarily disable Wi-Fi on the fryer before setting the timer manually.

  4. Power cycle the unit.

Unplug the Cosori from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. A power cycle resets the control software and clears timer state errors. Attempt to set the timer again after the unit restarts.

  5. Test each touch button individually.

Tap each timer button (+ and -) and listen for a confirming beep. If specific buttons produce no beep and no response, the touch sensor on that button has failed. Contact Cosori support for repair or replacement — most Cosori models include a 1-year warranty.

When to Call a Professional

If the touch buttons make no sound and produce no response after a power cycle, the control board touch sensors may have failed. Contact Cosori support for warranty service.
