Wi-Fi Not Connecting

Cosori Air Fryer

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Cosori Smart air fryer not connecting to Wi-Fi is almost always because it only supports 2.4GHz networks — not 5GHz. If your router combines both bands under one name, temporarily connect your phone to the 2.4GHz band during setup, or split the bands in your router settings.

Affected Models

  • Cosori Smart WiFi Air Fryer 5.8 Qt
  • Cosori Pro Gen 2 (WiFi models)
  • Cosori Dual Blaze (WiFi models)

Common Causes

  • 5GHz network selected — Cosori only supports 2.4GHz
  • Phone connected to 5GHz during setup — VeSync app cannot complete pairing from a 5GHz connection
  • VeSync app location permission not granted — required for Wi-Fi scanning on Android
  • Network name (SSID) contains special characters not supported by the device
  • Router too far from the fryer during initial setup

How to Fix It

  1. Connect your phone to the 2.4GHz network first.

Before starting setup in the VeSync app, go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and manually connect to your router's 2.4GHz band. Many routers broadcast both 2.4GHz and 5GHz under the same name — temporarily connect to the one labeled 2.4G or 2.4GHz. If there is no separate name, log into your router and enable band splitting.

  2. Grant location permission to the VeSync app.

On Android, the VeSync app requires Location permission to scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks during device pairing. Go to phone Settings > Apps > VeSync > Permissions > Location > Allow All the Time. Without this, the app cannot see available networks.

  3. Keep the fryer close to the router during setup.

During the initial Wi-Fi pairing, place the Cosori within 1–2 meters of your router. Once paired, you can move it to its normal position. Weak signal during setup is a common reason pairing fails or times out.

  4. Reset the Cosori to factory Wi-Fi settings.

On the Cosori, press and hold the Wi-Fi button (or the combination specified in your model's manual) for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator blinks. This resets the Wi-Fi module and clears any failed pairing attempt. Then restart the setup process in the VeSync app.

  5. Check the network SSID for special characters.

Wi-Fi names containing characters like &, #, %, or quotes can cause pairing failures on smart appliances. If your network name has special characters, try renaming it temporarily to a simple name (letters and numbers only) in your router settings.
