WiFi Not Connecting / App Won't Pair

Philips Air Fryer

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Philips air fryer WiFi not connecting is almost always caused by attempting to connect to a 5 GHz network — the Philips fryer only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi. Switch to the 2.4 GHz band on your router and re-pair using the NutriU app.

Affected Models

  • Philips Airfryer Connected models
  • Philips 3000 Series Connected
  • Philips 5000 Series Connected
  • Philips XXL Connected

Common Causes

  • Attempting to connect to a 5 GHz WiFi band — Philips air fryers only support 2.4 GHz
  • WiFi password entered incorrectly during setup in the NutriU app
  • Router too far from the air fryer for a stable 2.4 GHz connection
  • NutriU app outdated — older versions have pairing bugs
  • Air fryer firmware needs update before WiFi pairing will succeed

How to Fix It

  1. Connect to the 2.4 GHz WiFi band.

The Philips connected air fryer only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi — it cannot connect to 5 GHz networks. In your router settings, ensure you have a separate 2.4 GHz network name (SSID) available. If your router broadcasts a combined 2.4/5 GHz network, temporarily disable the 5 GHz band during pairing.

  2. Update the NutriU app.

Open your phone's app store and update the NutriU app to the latest version. Old app versions have known pairing bugs with newer Philips fryer firmware. After updating, force-close and reopen the app before attempting to re-pair.

  3. Place the air fryer closer to the router during pairing.

During the initial WiFi pairing, bring the air fryer within 3 metres (10 feet) of the router. A weak 2.4 GHz signal during pairing causes the setup to fail even if the password is correct. After successful pairing, the fryer can be moved to its normal position.

  4. Reset the air fryer WiFi settings.

In the NutriU app, go to device settings and select Remove Device or Forget. On the air fryer itself, press and hold the WiFi button for 5 seconds to reset the wireless module. Re-add the device from scratch in the NutriU app.

  5. Check the WiFi password for special characters.

WiFi passwords with special characters (!, @, #, $) are sometimes entered incorrectly during the NutriU pairing flow. Temporarily change your router WiFi password to a simple alphanumeric string, pair the fryer, then restore the original password. If the fryer connects with the simple password, the special character was the issue.

When to Call a Professional

WiFi connectivity is a software and network configuration issue — no hardware repair is needed. Contact Philips support if the WiFi module does not appear to respond during the pairing sequence at all.
