An Alen BreatheSmart that will not turn on is most often caused by the magnetic front panel not being fully attached — the unit will not run if the panel is ajar. Press the front panel firmly onto the magnet points, confirm the outlet has power, and press the power button once.

Common Causes

How to Fix It

Press the magnetic front panel firmly against the unit until it seats on all four magnet points. The unit will not start if the panel is even slightly ajar.
The magnet system is Alen's design for easy filter access. It also acts as a safety switch — the unit detects whether the panel is attached before allowing operation.

Check that the wall outlet has power and that the power cord is firmly plugged in at both ends.
