WiFi Not Connecting

Philips Air Purifier

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Philips connected air purifiers (Series 1000i, 2000i, 3000i) support only 2.4 GHz WiFi. If your router broadcasts only 5 GHz or combines both bands under one name, the purifier will not connect. Enable 2.4 GHz on your router, then re-pair the purifier through the Philips Air+ app.

Affected Models

  • Philips Series 1000i
  • Philips Series 2000i
  • Philips Series 3000i
  • Philips AC2889

Common Causes

  • Router is on 5 GHz only — Philips connected purifiers require 2.4 GHz
  • Incorrect WiFi password entered during pairing
  • Phone is on 5 GHz band while attempting to pair the purifier on 2.4 GHz
  • Philips Air+ app needs updating

How to Fix It

  1. Confirm your router has 2.4 GHz enabled. Log in to your router admin page and check the wireless settings. If you see only a 5 GHz band, enable 2.4 GHz.

If your router uses band steering (one network name for both bands), temporarily split them into separate network names — for example MyNetwork-2G and MyNetwork-5G — before pairing.

  2. On your phone, connect to the 2.4 GHz network before opening the Philips Air+ app.

Your phone must be on the same 2.4 GHz network that you want the purifier to join during setup.

  3. Open the Philips Air+ app. Go to Add New Device and follow the in-app pairing instructions. Hold your phone within 1 metre of the purifier during setup.

If a previous pairing attempt is saved in the app, remove that device entry first, then add the purifier fresh.

  4. If pairing fails after 3 attempts, press and hold the WiFi button on the purifier for 5 seconds to reset its network settings. The WiFi indicator will blink to show it is back in pairing mode. Then retry the app steps.
