Press the back filter panel firmly closed until you hear a click. The back panel on Mi Air Purifier 4 models has a release button — make sure the panel is re-latched, not just pushed closed.
This is the most common cause after a filter change. The panel looks closed but can sit just outside the latch point.

Check the Mi Home app for an active child lock. Open the app, tap your purifier, go to Settings, and make sure child lock is turned off.
