E34 on a Bosch dryer means the drying sensor (moisture sensor bars inside the drum) has a fault. These sensor bars detect how damp the laundry is and tell the dryer when to stop. With E34, the dryer cannot accurately judge dryness and may over-dry or under-dry laundry.

Clean the drying sensor bars inside the drum.
The sensor bars are two or more small metal strips on the inside of the drum door lip or drum interior. Wipe them firmly with a damp cloth or a cloth with a small amount of white vinegar. Fabric softener leaves a waxy coating that insulates the bars and causes E34.

Reduce fabric softener use.
Fabric softener sheets and dryer-added softener leave residue on the sensor bars. Use less softener, or switch to liquid softener added in the washing machine rather than the dryer.

If E34 persists after cleaning, call a Bosch technician.
The technician will check the sensor wiring and measure sensor resistance. Sensor bar replacement is a straightforward repair.
