- Kinked drain hose
- Blocked sink drain or garbage disposal
- Drain pump impeller jammed
- Drain pump motor failed
How to Fix It
-
Clean the drain filter.
Open the dishwasher and remove the bottom rack. Turn and lift out the cylindrical filter and flat mesh filter. Rinse both under running water and scrub with a soft brush.
-
Check the drain hose for kinks.
Pull the dishwasher out slightly and inspect the drain hose at the back. Straighten any kinks.
-
Check the sink drain and garbage disposal.
If your sink drains slowly or the garbage disposal is blocked, the dishwasher cannot drain. Clear the sink drain first.
-
Reset the machine.
Turn off at the mains for 2 minutes. Restart and run a rinse cycle to test drainage.
-
Check the drain pump (engineer required).
If the filter and hose are clear, the pump may be jammed or failed. Listen during the drain phase — silence means no pump operation.
