Audio Not Working

Arlo Baby Monitor (Camera)

Severity: Critical

What Does This Error Mean?

No audio from the Arlo Baby means you cannot hear your baby through the app. This could be a phone volume issue, app permissions, or a camera microphone problem. Check your phone volume and app audio permissions first.

Affected Models

  • Arlo Baby (ABC1000)

Common Causes

  • Phone volume muted or too low
  • Arlo app does not have microphone/audio permissions
  • Phone on silent/Do Not Disturb mode
  • App audio stream not loading due to network issues
  • Camera microphone hardware failure (rare)

How to Fix It

  1. Turn up your phone volume.

Check both the media volume and the ringer volume. Some phones have separate volume controls for different audio types.

  2. Check that Do Not Disturb is off on your phone.

Do Not Disturb can silence the Arlo app's audio. Disable it or add Arlo as an exception.

  3. Check app permissions: allow Arlo to use the microphone and speaker.

On iPhone: Settings > Arlo > Microphone. On Android: Settings > Apps > Arlo > Permissions.

  4. Force-close the Arlo app and reopen it.

The audio stream sometimes fails to start. Closing and reopening the app forces a fresh connection.
