Sock Not Connected

Owlet Baby Monitor (Smart Sock)

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Sock Not Connected means the base station cannot communicate with the Smart Sock via Bluetooth. The sock may need charging, may be out of range, or the Bluetooth connection dropped. Place the sock on the base station to charge and reconnect.

Affected Models

  • Owlet Smart Sock 3
  • Owlet Dream Sock
  • Owlet Smart Sock 2

Common Causes

  • Sock battery is dead — needs charging
  • Sock is too far from the base station (beyond Bluetooth range)
  • Bluetooth interference from other devices
  • Sock fabric sensor is dirty or wet
  • Sock firmware out of date

How to Fix It

  1. Place the sock on the base station to charge.

The sock needs regular charging. Place it on the base station and wait for the green charging light. A full charge takes about 90 minutes.

  2. Make sure the base station is within 30 feet of the sock.

Bluetooth range is limited. The base station should be in the baby's room, within line of sight.

  3. Clean the sock sensor contacts.

Wipe the green sensor window and the charging contacts with a soft damp cloth. Dirty contacts prevent charging and connection.

  4. Restart the base station by unplugging for 10 seconds.

This resets the Bluetooth connection and often resolves pairing issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
