WiFi Not Connecting
Fujifilm Camera
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Fujifilm cameras create their own WiFi hotspot to connect to the Fujifilm Camera Remote app — they do not connect to your home router. Enable WiFi on the camera (Menu > Wireless Settings > Wireless Communication > On), then connect your phone directly to the camera's WiFi hotspot from your phone's WiFi settings, and open the Fujifilm Camera Remote app.
Affected Models
- Fujifilm X-T4
- Fujifilm X-T5
- Fujifilm X-T30 II
- Fujifilm X-S10
- Fujifilm X-H2
- Fujifilm X-H2S
- Fujifilm X100VI
Common Causes
- Phone is connected to the home router instead of the camera hotspot
- Camera WiFi is not enabled in the menu
- Fujifilm Camera Remote app needs updating
- Camera and phone were previously paired and the pairing has expired or changed
How to Fix It
-
On the camera: go to Menu > Wireless Settings > Wireless Communication and set it to On. The camera will show a hotspot name (SSID) and password on the display.
The camera acts as a WiFi access point — your phone connects TO the camera, not through your home network. Your phone will lose internet access while connected to the camera.
-
On your phone: go to WiFi Settings and connect to the camera hotspot name shown on the camera screen. Enter the password shown on the camera.
-
Open the Fujifilm Camera Remote app. The app should detect the camera automatically and connect. Tap the camera name if prompted.
If the app does not see the camera, force-close and reopen it after confirming the phone is still connected to the camera hotspot.
-
If the connection keeps failing, reset the camera WiFi pairing data. On the camera: Menu > Wireless Settings > Registered Smartphones > Delete All. Then pair from scratch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Fujifilm Camera Remote over Bluetooth instead of WiFi?
Yes — newer Fujifilm cameras (X-T4, X-T5, X-H2, X-H2S, X100VI) support Bluetooth pairing for basic remote control and auto image transfer. Bluetooth pairing is more persistent than WiFi but transfers images more slowly. For faster image transfer and full remote control (including live view), use the WiFi hotspot method.
