Affected Models
- Panasonic Lumix S5
- Panasonic Lumix GH6
- Panasonic Lumix G9
- Panasonic Lumix GX85

Common Causes
- OIS motor stuck after impact
- Gyro sensor calibration lost
- Lens OIS switch toggled during operation
- Cold weather affecting OIS motor movement
- Firmware bug
How to Fix It
-
Turn off the camera, gently tap the lens barrel, and restart.
A gentle tap can free a stuck OIS element. Do not hit hard — just a light palm tap.
-
Toggle the OIS switch off and on.
If the lens has an OIS/stabiliser switch, toggle it off, wait 5 seconds, toggle back on.
-
Remove the battery for 30 seconds.
A full power reset recalibrates the OIS gyro sensor.
-
Update lens and body firmware.
Panasonic releases firmware updates that fix OIS bugs. Download from Panasonic's support site.
