Account Disabled / Banned
Epic Games Fortnite
Severity: CriticalWhat Does This Error Mean?
Check your email — Epic Games sends a ban notification with the reason to your registered email address. Temporary bans (1–30 days) expire automatically. Permanent bans require submitting an appeal at epicgames.com/help. If you did not cheat or violate terms, you can appeal — Epic does reverse bans on false positives.

How to Fix It
-
Check your email for the ban notice
Epic sends a ban notification to your registered email. Check your spam folder too. The email contains the ban reason (cheating, ToS violation, chargeback, etc.) and whether it is temporary or permanent.
-
Wait out a temporary ban
Temporary bans (typically 1, 7, or 30 days) lift automatically at the end of the period. You cannot log into Fortnite during this time. Your items and V-Bucks are retained.
-
Submit a ban appeal
Go to epicgames.com/help → Contact Us → Fortnite → Account → Banned or Suspended. Provide your Epic account email, the reason you believe the ban was incorrect, and any evidence. Be concise and professional.
-
Secure a compromised account
If someone accessed your account and cheated, change your password immediately, enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), and include this in your appeal. Epic considers compromised account cases separately.
-
Resolve any chargeback
If the ban is for a chargeback or payment dispute, contact Epic support to pay the outstanding balance. Payment-related bans are lifted once the balance is resolved.
When to Call a Professional
If your account was banned due to a compromised account (someone else used it to cheat), document the evidence and contact Epic Games support — compromised account bans are regularly reversed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fortnite banned me but I didn't cheat — can I appeal?
Yes — Epic Games accepts ban appeals and does reverse false positives. Go to epicgames.com/help and submit a detailed appeal explaining the situation. Include any evidence that the ban was incorrect.
Fortnite hardware ban — can I make a new account?
Hardware bans block the device, not just the account. Creating a new account on a hardware-banned device typically results in that account being banned too. Hardware bans are issued for severe or repeated cheating violations.
Will I lose my skins and V-Bucks if permanently banned?
Yes — a permanent ban results in loss of access to all purchased content. This is why submitting an appeal is important if you believe the ban was issued in error.
