Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
If the Tello app shows a black screen or no video feed, the camera isn't streaming. This is almost always a connection issue between the app and the Tello, not a broken camera.

How to Fix It
-
Close and reopen the Tello app.
A simple app restart fixes the black screen in most cases. Make sure you are fully connected to the Tello Wi-Fi before reopening.
-
Check app permissions on your phone.
The Tello app needs camera and storage permissions to show the video feed. Go to Phone Settings → Apps → Tello → Permissions and enable Camera and Storage.
-
Check that the lens is unobstructed and clean.
The Tello's camera lens is small and easily fogged by condensation or fingerprints. Wipe gently with a microfibre cloth.
-
Update the Tello app.
An outdated app can lose compatibility with the Tello's video stream format after a firmware update. Update via the App Store or Google Play.
-
Power cycle the Tello.
Turn off, wait 10 seconds, power on again. Reconnect to its Wi-Fi and relaunch the app.
