How to Fix It

Keep a clear line of sight between your phone and the Tello.
The Tello's antenna is omnidirectional but signal drops significantly when obstructed. Do not put your body between the phone and the drone — hold your phone up and facing the Tello.

Fly in an open outdoor area on a low-interference Wi-Fi channel.
The Tello selects its Wi-Fi channel automatically. In a dense apartment block, dozens of networks on 2.4 GHz reduce range to 20-30 metres. A park or open field dramatically improves range.

Metal phone cases, car mounts with magnetic holders, and thick rubber cases can weaken the phone's Wi-Fi antenna output. Fly with the case removed if range is critical.
