Not Heating
Electrolux Dryer
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
An Electrolux dryer that runs but produces no heat usually has a blown thermal fuse or a failed heating element — almost always triggered by a clogged exhaust vent. Fix the vent first.
Affected Models
- Electrolux Electric Dryer
- Electrolux EDC Series
- Electrolux EW Series
- Electrolux Condenser Dryer
Common Causes
- Blown thermal fuse
- Failed heating element (E61)
- Failed safety thermostat (E62)
- Blocked exhaust vent — root cause in most cases
How to Fix It
-
Clean the exhaust vent and lint filter.
Remove all lint from the filter and the full duct run to the outside. This is the single most important first step — it is the root cause in the majority of no-heat cases.
-
Test the thermal fuse.
Unplug the dryer and find the thermal fuse near the heating element. Test with a multimeter — no continuity means it has blown. Replace it.
-
Test the heating element.
Test the element coil for continuity. No continuity means the coil has burned out (E61). Replace the element assembly.
-
Test the safety thermostat.
Test the thermostat at room temperature — it should show continuity. If it tests open, replace it (E62).
When to Call a Professional
If you have cleaned the vent and replaced the thermal fuse but the dryer still produces no heat, a technician should test the heating element, thermostat, and control board.
