What Does This Error Mean?

Sync Failed means the Kobo could not connect to Kobo's servers to update your library or reading position. Check WiFi, restart the device, and try syncing again.

How to Fix It

  1. Check WiFi connection.

    Make sure WiFi is connected. Try opening the Kobo Store to test.

  2. Tap Sync on the home screen.

    Pull down from the top of the home screen or tap the sync icon. This manually triggers a sync.

  3. Restart the Kobo.

    Settings > Device Information > Restart. A restart refreshes the connection to Kobo's servers.

  4. Sign out and back in.

    Settings > Accounts > Sign Out. Sign back in with your Kobo account.
