Severity: Moderate

Note: This issue may not appear as a code on your device's display. This page helps you troubleshoot the underlying problem.

What Does This Error Mean?

ClassicFlame thermostat not working means the fireplace either runs non-stop or never starts the heater. Set the thermostat to 2–3°C above the current room temperature and allow 15 minutes — the heater should cycle on and off to maintain this target.

How to Fix It

  1. Set the thermostat correctly

  2. Allow time for the thermostat to respond

  3. Keep the unit away from heat sources

  4. Check the temperature unit (°C vs °F)

  5. Contact ClassicFlame for thermostat service

Frequently Asked Questions

ClassicFlame heater runs all night even with thermostat set low — cause?

A stuck thermostat sensor or relay inside the control board can cause continuous heating regardless of the set temperature. This is a component failure — contact ClassicFlame support for repair.

ClassicFlame thermostat setting keeps reverting to default — why?

Some ClassicFlame models reset thermostat settings when unplugged or after a power cut. This is by design, not a fault. You will need to reapply your preferred thermostat setting after each power interruption.

Is the ClassicFlame thermostat accurate to within 1°C?

ClassicFlame consumer fireplaces use a basic NTC thermistor sensor that is accurate to approximately ±2–3°C. For precise room temperature control, use the thermostat as a guide and adjust by feel rather than relying on exact degree accuracy.
