Frequently Asked Questions
Duraflame remote works for some buttons but not others — cause?
Partial remote failure (some buttons work, some do not) usually means the remote circuit board has a fault rather than a dead battery. Replace the remote.
Duraflame remote was working and suddenly stopped with fresh batteries — why?
Check whether another household member accidentally enabled a child lock or button lock on the fireplace. Some Duraflame models have a hold-to-lock function that disables remote input. Check the manual for the lock/unlock sequence.
Can I use a universal remote with my Duraflame fireplace?
Some universal remotes support Duraflame and similar electric fireplace brands. Look for a universal fireplace remote at a hardware or electronics store and check that it lists Duraflame compatibility on the packaging.
