Console Not Turning On
Horizon Fitness Fitness Equipment
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
A Horizon console with no display has either lost power, has a tripped reset switch, or has a missing safety key. Check the wall outlet, the on/off switch on the front of the treadmill, and the safety key first.
Affected Models
- Horizon 7.0 AT
- Horizon 7.4 AT
- Horizon Evolve 5
- Horizon T101
- Horizon T202
- Vision T9450
- Horizon GR3 Bike
Common Causes
- Tripped reset switch on the treadmill (near power cord)
- Missing or improperly inserted safety key (treadmill)
- Wall outlet has no power or breaker tripped
- Internal fuse blown after a power surge
- Damaged power cable or loose console connection
How to Fix It
-
Check the safety key (treadmill).
Most Horizon treadmills require a magnetic safety key clipped to the console for power. Make sure the key is fully inserted. If lost, replacement keys are available from Horizon customer service.
-
Check the reset switch (circuit breaker).
Horizon treadmills have a reset switch (circuit breaker) on the frame near the power cord. If tripped, press it back in. Repeated tripping = electrical issue or motor problem.
-
Verify the wall outlet.
Plug a lamp or phone charger into the same outlet. If nothing works, check the home breaker. If working, the issue is the treadmill itself.
-
Inspect the power cable and console connection.
Check the cable from the wall to the treadmill for damage. If you can lift the console, check the multi-pin cable from the lower frame is fully seated.
-
Contact Horizon customer service.
If basic checks do not restore power, the internal MCB (motor control board) or console may have failed. Horizon customer service can supply replacement boards for many models, often without a technician visit.
When to Call a Professional
Most Horizon treadmills have user-replaceable parts available through customer service. For internal electronics issues, a Horizon-authorised technician can diagnose and replace components.
