2110-2007
Nintendo Nintendo Switch
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
Error 2110-2007 means your Nintendo Switch could not connect to the internet through your Wi-Fi network. This is a networking error, not a hardware failure. Most users can fix it by restarting their router and adjusting their Wi-Fi settings.
Affected Models
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch Lite
- Nintendo Switch OLED
Common Causes
- Your router or modem needs a restart to clear a stuck connection
- The Nintendo Switch is too far from the router or the Wi-Fi signal is too weak
- Your router is using a channel or frequency that the Switch has trouble with
- Your network uses a security type that the Switch does not support
- A firewall or parental control setting on the router is blocking the Switch
How to Fix It
-
Restart your router and modem. Unplug both from the wall, wait 60 seconds, then plug the modem in first. Wait for it to connect, then plug the router back in. Try connecting your Switch once the router is fully back online.
This is the most effective first step. Router restarts fix the majority of temporary Wi-Fi errors.
-
Move your Switch closer to the router. The Nintendo Switch has a smaller Wi-Fi antenna than phones or laptops. If you are in a different room or far away, the signal may not be strong enough.
Try connecting while standing right next to the router to confirm the distance is not the problem.
-
Forget the network and reconnect. Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings. Select your Wi-Fi network and choose 'Delete Settings.' Then select your network again and re-enter the password.
Corrupted saved network settings can prevent a successful connection even with the right password.
-
Change your router's Wi-Fi channel. Log in to your router's settings (usually at 192.168.1.1 in a browser) and try changing the wireless channel to 1, 6, or 11. These channels have less interference.
If your neighbors have many Wi-Fi networks, channel congestion can cause intermittent connection failures.
-
Manually set DNS settings on the Switch. Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings > select your network > Change Settings > DNS Settings > Manual. Set Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 and Secondary to 8.8.4.4.
Custom DNS servers can bypass router DNS issues and often improve connection reliability on the Switch.
When to Call a Professional
2110-2007 is a network error you can fix at home. If the error appears on all Wi-Fi networks you try and not just your home network, contact Nintendo Support at nintendo.com/consumer/contact. In rare cases, the Switch's Wi-Fi antenna can fail and need hardware repair.
Frequently Asked Questions
My other devices connect to Wi-Fi fine but my Switch cannot — why?
The Nintendo Switch has a weaker Wi-Fi radio than most phones and tablets. Your other devices may be handling a marginal signal that the Switch cannot. Try moving the Switch closer to your router, or use a Wi-Fi extender.
Does the Nintendo Switch support 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
The original Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. The Nintendo Switch Lite also supports both bands. If you have trouble on 5 GHz, try connecting to the 2.4 GHz network instead — it has better range.
Can I use a wired internet connection on the Nintendo Switch?
Yes, with a USB-to-Ethernet adapter in the Switch dock. The Switch Lite and handheld mode do not support wired connections without a dock. A wired connection is much more reliable and faster than Wi-Fi for online gaming.
