F2
Haier Split AC
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
F2 on a Haier AC means the outdoor ambient temperature sensor has a fault. This thermistor measures the outside air temperature to help the inverter adjust its output for current weather conditions. A failed sensor triggers F2 and the system stops.
Affected Models
- Haier Inverter Split AC (all capacities)
- Haier Turbo Cool
- Haier Pro Inverter
- Haier HREA series
- Haier HSUA series
Common Causes
- Outdoor ambient thermistor failed — open or short circuit
- Thermistor wiring damaged by weather exposure or pests
- Connector at the outdoor PCB corroded from humidity
- Thermistor positioned incorrectly on the outdoor unit
- Outdoor PCB fault causing incorrect reading of the ambient sensor
How to Fix It
-
Power off at the remote and circuit breaker. Wait 5 minutes and restart.
If F2 clears and the AC runs normally, monitor over the next few cycles.
-
Inspect the outdoor unit from outside for visible damage.
Look for signs of pest activity, physical damage to the casing, or water pooling around the unit base. Report what you see to the technician.
-
Call Haier service (1800-200-9999) if F2 persists.
The outdoor ambient thermistor is an inexpensive part — the main cost is the service visit fee.
When to Call a Professional
F2 requires a Haier authorised technician. Haier India: 1800-200-9999. Do not open the outdoor unit — high-voltage components are present inside.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Haier show F2 only in very hot weather?
A slightly degraded thermistor may read within acceptable limits at moderate temperatures but tip into fault range in extreme heat (above 48–50 degrees C). If F2 only appears on the hottest summer days, the thermistor is borderline and should be proactively replaced before the next summer.
