- ResMed AirSense 11
- Philips DreamStation

Common Causes
- Water chamber not properly seated
- Water chamber empty
- Heating plate connection dirty
- Water chamber cracked or damaged
- Temperature sensor fault
How to Fix It
-
Remove and reseat the water chamber.
Pull the chamber out, check the seal and contacts, and reinsert firmly until it clicks.
-
Fill the chamber to the MAX line with distilled water.
Use distilled water only — tap water leaves mineral deposits. Do not overfill past the MAX line.
-
Clean the heating plate contacts.
Wipe the metal contacts on both the chamber and the machine with a dry cloth.
-
Check the chamber for cracks.
Cracks cause leaks and prevent proper heating. Replace the chamber if damaged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use distilled water?
Tap water contains minerals that leave white deposits in the chamber and can harbour bacteria. Distilled water is pure and extends the chamber's life.
Can I use the CPAP without the humidifier?
Yes. Remove the chamber and the machine works as a dry CPAP. But dry air can cause nasal dryness, nosebleeds, and congestion.
