Error 1100

ResMed CPAP Machine

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 1100 means the internal pressure sensor has failed or is reading incorrectly. The machine cannot safely deliver therapy without accurate pressure sensing. This is a hardware fault requiring service or replacement.

Affected Models

  • ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirSense 10 Elite
  • ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto
  • ResMed S9 AutoSet

Common Causes

  • Pressure sensor component failure
  • Internal condensation damaging sensor circuitry
  • Electronic board fault
  • Dropping or physical impact damaging the sensor

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug and leave unpowered for 5 minutes.

Occasionally a sensor gives a false error after a power fluctuation. A full power cycle clears transient faults.

  2. Ensure the machine and humidifier chamber are dry.

If you use a heated humidifier, water can condense inside the machine in cold rooms. Leave the machine unpowered with the humidifier removed for several hours.

  3. If Error 1100 returns, contact ResMed support.

Quote Error 1100 and your machine's serial number. ResMed support: resmed.com/support

  4. Do not use a machine showing persistent Error 1100.

Without accurate pressure sensing, the machine cannot guarantee correct therapy pressure. Using it could mean under-treatment of your sleep apnea.
