Error 2000

ResMed CPAP Machine

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 2000 indicates an internal communication failure between the machine's circuit boards. A power cycle fixes this in many cases. If it persists, the machine needs service.

Affected Models

  • ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto
  • ResMed AirCurve 10 S
  • ResMed AirMini

Common Causes

  • Temporary firmware communication glitch
  • Loose internal board-to-board connector
  • Power supply fluctuation causing a fault state
  • Firmware update interrupted or corrupted

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug the machine completely for 60 seconds.

This is different from just pressing the power button. Fully remove the power cord from the machine. This discharges the internal capacitors and fully resets the firmware.

  2. Reconnect and restart.

If Error 2000 does not return, the fault was a transient glitch. Monitor over the next few nights.

  3. Check if a firmware update is available.

If your machine is connected to ResMed's myAir network, updates may be pushed automatically overnight. A corrupted update can cause Error 2000 — ResMed may push a corrective update.

  4. Contact ResMed support if it returns.

Quote Error 2000 and provide your serial number. ResMed can often diagnose remotely via the machine's connectivity data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Could a firmware update cause Error 2000?

Yes — if a wireless firmware update is interrupted (e.g. by a power cut), the firmware can end up in a corrupted state. ResMed's support team can identify this from the machine's logs and push a fix.
