Error 3000

ResMed CPAP Machine

Severity: Minor

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 3000 means the main unit cannot communicate with the HumidAir humidifier module. Removing and reseating the humidifier fixes this in most cases.

Affected Models

  • ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirSense 10 Elite
  • ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet
  • ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto

Common Causes

  • Humidifier not fully seated in the slot
  • Humidifier connector contacts dirty or corroded
  • Humidifier water tub missing (machine expects it)
  • Humidifier module itself faulty

How to Fix It

  1. Remove and reseat the humidifier module.

Slide the HumidAir chamber fully out. Reinspect the connector contacts on both the machine and humidifier for debris. Slide it firmly back until it clicks into place.

  2. Ensure the water tub is installed.

The AirSense 10 and 11 expect the water tub to be present when the humidifier is attached. Insert the water tub, then reattach the humidifier assembly.

  3. Clean the connector contacts.

Use a dry cotton bud to gently clean the gold contacts on the humidifier connector. Do not use liquids near the contacts.

  4. Try using the machine without the humidifier.

Remove the humidifier entirely. If the machine works without it, the humidifier module has failed and needs replacing.

  5. Contact ResMed if the humidifier is within warranty.

The HumidAir humidifier is a replaceable accessory. Check if it is within warranty — ResMed may replace it free of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the CPAP without the humidifier while I wait for a replacement?

Yes — the AirSense 10 and 11 work perfectly without the humidifier. You may experience dryness in your nose or throat. Using a saline nasal spray before bed can help.
