Login Not Working / Can't Sign In to Waze
Waze Navigation App
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Waze login not working is usually caused by an incorrect password, the email address used with a social login (Google/Facebook) instead of a Waze-specific password, or a Waze server outage. Try signing in with Google or Facebook if you originally registered with those options.
Affected Models
- Waze for iOS (iPhone)
- Waze for Android
- All Waze accounts
Common Causes
- Wrong password — common if you use a password manager and the stored password is outdated
- Account created with social login (Google or Facebook) — trying to log in with email/password fails
- Waze server authentication outage — login servers temporarily unavailable
- App cache containing corrupted session data preventing new login
- Account suspended or deleted by Waze for terms of service violations
How to Fix It
-
Try logging in with Google or Facebook.
Many Waze accounts were created using Google or Facebook login rather than an email/password combination. On the Waze login screen, tap Continue with Google or Continue with Facebook and use those credentials. If you originally signed up through one of these social options, there is no Waze-specific password to enter.
-
Reset your Waze password.
On the Waze login screen, tap Forgot password and enter your account email address. Check your email (including spam/junk folder) for a reset link from Waze. If no email arrives within 5 minutes, the email address you entered may not match the one on your Waze account.
-
Clear the Waze app cache.
On Android: Settings → Apps → Waze → Storage → Clear Cache, then try logging in again. On iPhone: delete Waze from the home screen and reinstall it from the App Store. A corrupted session cache can block the login screen from completing authentication even with correct credentials.
-
Check for a Waze server outage.
Login failures sometimes affect all Waze users simultaneously during server maintenance or outages. Check downdetector.com/status/waze or Waze's official social media for outage reports. If an outage is confirmed, wait 30–60 minutes and try again — there is nothing to fix on your end.
-
Use Waze without an account.
Waze navigation works fully without a logged-in account — you only lose points, leaderboard position, and saved places. If you cannot log in and need navigation now, tap Drive Without Login on the login screen. Resolve the account issue later through the Waze website or Google account support.
When to Call a Professional
If you cannot recover your Waze account through the password reset process and cannot log in with social accounts, contact Waze support through the app or at support.google.com (Waze is owned by Google).
