OmniLogic Offline / App Not Connecting
Hayward Pool Equipment
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
A Hayward OmniLogic showing offline usually lost its Wi-Fi connection after a router change or power outage. Reboot the OmniLogic MSP at the equipment pad, then re-enter your Wi-Fi credentials through the Hayward OmniLogic app or local touchscreen. Confirm the router broadcasts on 2.4 GHz — OmniLogic does not support 5 GHz.
Affected Models
- Hayward OmniLogic
- Hayward Omni Controller
- Hayward OmniHub
Common Causes
- Router replaced or Wi-Fi password changed — OmniLogic still has old credentials
- OmniLogic only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi — 5 GHz networks will not connect
- DHCP lease lost after a power outage — IP address conflict
- OmniLogic firmware update failed mid-process, corrupting Wi-Fi settings
- Equipment pad located too far from the router — weak Wi-Fi signal
How to Fix It
-
Reboot the OmniLogic MSP.
At the equipment pad, locate the OmniLogic Master System Panel (MSP). Turn off its power at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power. Allow 2 minutes for the system to fully boot before checking the app.
-
Confirm 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is available.
Log in to your router and verify a 2.4 GHz network exists and is active. If your router has a combined SSID, split it into separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, then connect the OmniLogic specifically to the 2.4 GHz network.
-
Re-enter Wi-Fi credentials on the OmniLogic touchscreen.
On the OmniLogic local touchscreen (at the equipment pad), go to Settings > Wi-Fi and enter your current network name and password. This bypasses the app entirely and confirms connectivity from the device itself.
-
Re-pair in the Hayward OmniLogic app.
In the Hayward OmniLogic app, go to My Systems, remove the existing system, and tap Add System. Follow the on-screen steps to register your OmniLogic system with the Hayward cloud account. You will need your OmniLogic serial number (on the MSP label).
-
Improve Wi-Fi signal at the equipment pad.
If the equipment pad is far from the house router, Wi-Fi signal may be too weak. A Wi-Fi range extender or powerline Ethernet adapter can provide a stronger signal to the OmniLogic. OmniLogic also supports wired Ethernet if you can run a cable to the equipment pad.
When to Call a Professional
If OmniLogic cannot connect after a confirmed 2.4 GHz reconfiguration, and the local touchscreen also reports a Wi-Fi error, the OmniLogic Wi-Fi module may need replacement.
