Automation Offline / iAquaLink Offline

Zodiac / Jandy Pool Equipment

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

A Zodiac/Jandy iAquaLink system going offline is usually caused by a Wi-Fi dropout after a router change or password update. Power cycle the iAquaLink 2.0 controller, then re-enter your Wi-Fi credentials through the app setup wizard. Confirm your router is broadcasting on 2.4 GHz — iAquaLink 2.0 does not support 5 GHz.

Affected Models

  • Jandy iAquaLink 2.0
  • Jandy RS Pool/Spa Controller
  • Zodiac iAquaLink
  • Jandy PDA Remote

Common Causes

  • Router replaced or Wi-Fi password changed — controller still has old credentials
  • iAquaLink 2.0 only supports 2.4 GHz — 5 GHz-only networks will not connect
  • Controller lost DHCP lease after a power outage
  • Firmware update in progress or failed mid-update
  • App account session expired

How to Fix It

  1. Power cycle the iAquaLink 2.0 controller.

At the equipment pad, locate the iAquaLink 2.0 interface and disconnect its power for 30 seconds. Alternatively, turn off the breaker for the equipment pad for 30 seconds. After restart, allow 2 minutes for the controller to boot before checking the app.

  2. Confirm your Wi-Fi is on 2.4 GHz.

The iAquaLink 2.0 only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. If your router combines 2.4 and 5 GHz under one name, log in to the router and ensure 2.4 GHz is active. Temporarily disable the 5 GHz band if the controller refuses to connect.

  3. Re-run the setup wizard in the app.

In the iAquaLink app, go to Settings > Devices and remove the existing controller. Tap Add Device and follow the setup wizard to re-enter your Wi-Fi network name and password. Stand near the equipment pad during setup to maintain a strong Bluetooth signal.

  4. Check the iAquaLink LED status.

The LED on the iAquaLink 2.0 interface indicates its connection state: - Solid green: connected to server - Slow blink green: connected to Wi-Fi, trying to reach server - Rapid blink: in setup mode - Solid red: no Wi-Fi connection Use this to diagnose whether the issue is local Wi-Fi or a server connection.

  5. Update the iAquaLink firmware.

Outdated firmware on the iAquaLink 2.0 can cause repeated disconnections. Firmware updates are delivered through the iAquaLink app when connected. After re-establishing the connection, check the app for available updates.

When to Call a Professional

If the iAquaLink 2.0 cannot be found during setup after multiple attempts on a confirmed 2.4 GHz network, the Wi-Fi module in the controller may be defective and need replacement.
