Display Not Working
Zodiac Pool System
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
A blank or unresponsive display on a Zodiac Jandy controller or heater is most often caused by a power interruption resetting the unit, a tripped breaker, or water damage to the outdoor display panel. Check the power supply to the automation panel first, then try a power cycle.
Affected Models
- Jandy AquaLink RS Controller
- Jandy iAquaLink Panel
- Jandy JXi Heater Display
- Zodiac iAquaLink Control Panel
Common Causes
- Power interruption has caused the control board to lose its boot state
- Tripped breaker to the automation sub-panel
- Water intrusion into the outdoor display panel
- Failed backlight on an older LCD display panel
- Damaged ribbon cable between the control board and display
How to Fix It
-
Check the circuit breaker for the automation panel in your main electrical panel. If it has tripped, reset it and check if the display comes back.
-
Turn off power to the automation panel at the breaker. Wait 30 seconds, then restore power. The control board should go through its startup sequence and the display should come back.
A full power cycle clears any fault state in the control board processor.
-
Inspect the display panel for water intrusion — check around the gasket seal. If the panel interior is wet, allow it to dry completely before restoring power.
Running a control panel with wet internals can cause permanent board damage. If water got inside, contact a Jandy-certified technician before powering it back on.
-
If the display remains blank after a power cycle and there is no water damage, the display panel or backlight has likely failed and needs replacement. Contact your Jandy dealer.
Frequently Asked Questions
My Jandy display works but buttons do not respond — what is wrong?
Unresponsive buttons with a working display usually indicates a failed keypad membrane. The membrane contacts wear out over time, especially on frequently pressed buttons like Filter and Lights. A Jandy technician can replace the keypad panel without replacing the full control board.
