Not Charging Device

Anker Power Bank

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

If your Anker power bank is not charging a connected device, the cable may be bad, the power bank may be dead, or the device requires more power than the port provides. Try a different cable and make sure the power bank itself has charge.

Affected Models

  • Anker PowerCore 10000
  • Anker PowerCore 20000
  • Anker PowerCore III
  • Anker 737 (PowerCore 24K)
  • Most Anker power banks

Common Causes

  • Power bank battery is empty — needs recharging
  • USB cable is charge-only or damaged
  • Wrong port used — some ports are input only
  • Device requires more power than the port provides
  • Power bank in low-current mode (for earbuds/watches) when phone needs full power

How to Fix It

  1. Check the power bank's battery level.

Press the button to see the LED indicators. If no LEDs light up, the power bank is dead — recharge it.

  2. Try a different USB cable.

Some cables are charge-only (no data). Others degrade over time. Use the cable that came with the power bank.

  3. Make sure you are using an output port, not the input port.

Input ports are for charging the power bank itself. Output ports (usually labelled OUT or with a phone icon) charge your devices.

  4. Disable low-current/trickle charge mode.

Some Anker models have a low-current mode for small devices. Double-press the button to toggle back to normal mode.
