USB Not Working

EcoFlow Portable Power Station

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

An EcoFlow USB port not working is almost always because the USB output is switched off on the unit or in the EcoFlow app. Press the USB output button on the EcoFlow to enable USB ports before connecting devices.

Affected Models

  • EcoFlow DELTA
  • EcoFlow DELTA 2
  • EcoFlow DELTA Pro
  • EcoFlow RIVER
  • EcoFlow RIVER 2
  • EcoFlow RIVER Pro
  • EcoFlow RIVER Mini

Common Causes

  • USB output not enabled — EcoFlow requires manual activation of each output group
  • ECO mode triggered — unit reduces or cuts USB output when draw is below threshold
  • USB-C PD port not compatible with connected device's charging protocol
  • Port damaged by overvoltage from a non-standard cable
  • Connected device drawing more current than the port's rated output

How to Fix It

  1. Press the USB output button on the EcoFlow.

EcoFlow units have separate output enable buttons for AC, DC/car, and USB groups. Look for the USB icon button on the unit's front panel and press it. The USB indicator LED should illuminate when USB output is active.

  2. Disable ECO mode.

In ECO mode, the EcoFlow automatically turns off USB output if the connected device draws very little power (under ~5W) for 4 hours. Open the EcoFlow app, go to Settings, and disable ECO mode if you need continuous USB output.

  3. Try a different USB cable and device.

A faulty cable is the most common reason a USB port appears to not work. Test with a known-good cable and a device you know charges normally. Also try both USB-A and USB-C ports if your unit has both.

  4. Check the device's charging requirement.

Some devices require USB Power Delivery (PD) at specific voltages. The RIVER 2 USB-C port supports PD up to 60W. If your device requires PD and you are using a USB-A port, it may charge slowly or not at all.

  5. Restart the EcoFlow unit.

Power off the unit completely and power back on. This resets all output enable states. Re-enable USB output after restart and test again.

When to Call a Professional

If a USB port delivers no power even with USB output enabled, the correct cable, and a confirmed-working device, the port may be physically damaged. Contact EcoFlow support for a warranty evaluation.
