No Output Power
Advice UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
Severity:What Does This Error Mean?
Advice UPS producing no output usually means the UPS tripped into protection mode due to an overload, short circuit, or severe fault. Disconnect all load equipment, power off the UPS, wait 30 seconds, then power on again before reconnecting equipment.

Common Causes
- Overload protection tripped — connected load exceeded rated output watts
- Short circuit on one of the output sockets — faulty connected device
- UPS battery fully discharged during a power cut — UPS shut down to prevent battery damage
- Output relay fault — internal relay failed to close after startup
- UPS in sleep or eco mode with no load connected — outputs disabled automatically
How to Fix It
-
Disconnect all equipment from the UPS.
Remove all connected devices from every UPS output socket. This clears any overload or short circuit condition that may have tripped the protection.
-
Power off the UPS completely.
Press and hold the power button to turn the UPS off completely. Verify the display goes dark and all indicators turn off. Wait 30 seconds.
-
Power on the UPS with no load.
Turn on the UPS with no equipment connected. The UPS should initialize and show normal mains power status on the display. If it shuts down again immediately with no load, an internal fault is present.
-
Reconnect equipment one device at a time.
With the UPS running normally on no-load, reconnect devices one by one. Watch the load indicator (% or watts) after each connection. If the output cuts when adding a specific device, that device has a fault — remove it.
-
Check the UPS total load vs. rated output.
Sum the wattage of all connected devices and compare to the UPS watt rating (not VA). For a 600VA UPS, the watt rating is typically 360W. If your total equipment load exceeds the watt rating, the UPS will trip into protection. Reduce the load or upgrade to a higher-capacity UPS.
When to Call a Professional
If the UPS starts and shows normal status on the display but delivers no power to any output socket, the output relay or inverter circuit has failed. Contact Advice support or a UPS service center.
