Temperature Alarm

Bosch Refrigerator

Severity: Critical

What Does This Error Mean?

A Bosch fridge temperature alarm means the internal temperature has risen above the safe limit. Press the Alarm Off button to silence it, then check the cause — usually a door left open, a large amount of warm food added, or a cooling fault.

Affected Models

  • Bosch Serie 2 Fridge-Freezer
  • Bosch Serie 4 Fridge-Freezer
  • Bosch Serie 6 Fridge-Freezer
  • Bosch Serie 8 Fridge-Freezer
  • Bosch NoFrost Refrigerator

Common Causes

  • Door left open or not sealed fully
  • Large quantity of warm food placed inside — temperature temporarily rises
  • Power outage warming the fridge contents
  • Fridge cooling fault — not reaching set temperature
  • Alarm triggered after Super Cool or Super Freeze cycle ends

How to Fix It

  1. Press the Alarm Off button.

On most Bosch models the Alarm Off button is on the control panel. Press it to silence the beeping. The alarm indicator light may remain on until the temperature returns to the set level.

  2. Check the doors are fully closed.

Open and close each door firmly. Check that nothing inside the fridge or freezer is preventing the door from sealing. After closing, allow 2 hours for the temperature to stabilise before checking the display.

  3. Check if warm food was added recently.

Adding a large amount of warm food (e.g. after cooking or shopping) temporarily raises the internal temperature and triggers the alarm. This is normal — close the doors and wait 2 hours for the temperature to recover.

  4. Check for a cooling fault.

If the alarm persists after 2 hours with the doors closed and no warm food was added, the fridge is not reaching the set temperature. Check that the condenser coils are clean and ventilation is clear. Refer to the Bosch Fridge Not Cooling guide.

When to Call a Professional

If the temperature alarm cannot be cleared and the fridge is genuinely not reaching the set temperature after 2 hours with the doors closed, the cooling system has a fault — contact a Bosch-authorised service technician.
