Brush Not Spinning

Dreame Robot Vacuum

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

A Dreame robot brush that will not spin is almost always caused by hair or debris tangled around the roll or its end bearings. Flip the robot over, remove the brush roll cover, pull out all tangles, and reinstall.

Affected Models

  • Dreame L10 Pro
  • Dreame L20 Ultra
  • Dreame X30
  • Dreame D10 Plus
  • Dreame Bot Z10 Pro

Common Causes

  • Hair or string wrapped tightly around the brush roll
  • Debris jammed in the brush roll end bearings
  • Brush roll cover not fully seated — safety cut-out stops the motor
  • Brush roll motor fault — uncommon

How to Fix It

  1. Turn off the robot and flip it over.

Always power off before servicing. Flip the robot onto a flat, stable surface.

  2. Remove the brush roll cover.

Press the release tabs on the brush roll cover and lift it away. Note the orientation of the brush roll before removing it.

  3. Clear all tangles from the brush roll.

Pull the brush roll out and use scissors to cut through wrapped hair. Remove all hair from the end cap bearings — this is where the most resistance builds up. A toothpick helps clear compacted hair from the end cap slots.

  4. Clean the brush roll channel.

Wipe the housing channel with a dry cloth to remove any remaining debris before reinstalling the roll.

  5. Reinstall and test.

Reinsert the brush roll and snap the cover firmly back on — both tabs must click. Power the robot on and run it briefly to confirm the brush roll spins freely.
