Frequently Asked Questions
Ring Alarm motion sensor not triggering siren in Armed Home mode — why?
In Armed Home mode, motion sensors are typically disabled by default (since people are moving around inside). Motion sensors only trigger the alarm in Armed Away mode. Adjust the sensor mode settings in the Ring app if needed.
Ring Alarm siren sounds for some sensors but not others — cause?
Check each non-triggering sensor in the Ring app. The sensor may be set to Alert Only (notification without siren) rather than Alarm. Change the sensor response type to Alarm in its settings.
Ring Alarm siren sounded once and then stopped — is that normal?
The Ring Alarm siren will continue to sound until the alarm is disarmed or the maximum alarm duration (usually 10 minutes) is reached. If it stopped before disarming, check the base station for connectivity issues or a low backup battery.
