Frequently Asked Questions
SimpliSafe keypad shows no numbers or completely blank screen — dead batteries?
Yes. A completely blank keypad screen almost always means the batteries are fully depleted. Replace all 4 AA batteries with fresh lithium or alkaline batteries.
SimpliSafe keypad connected but shows wrong status — sync issue?
If the keypad shows disarmed but the app shows armed (or vice versa), restart the base station. The keypad and app should sync within 2 minutes of the base station restarting.
Can I use the SimpliSafe system without the keypad?
Yes. The SimpliSafe system can be armed and disarmed entirely through the SimpliSafe app on your phone. The keypad is a convenience device, not a requirement for operation.
