Camera Offline

Reolink Security Camera

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

A Reolink camera offline is usually caused by a WiFi dropout, a router restart that changed the IP address, or the camera being too far from the router. Power-cycle the camera and router, then recheck the Reolink app.

Affected Models

  • Reolink Argus 3 Pro
  • Reolink E1 Pro
  • Reolink RLC-810A
  • Reolink Duo 3 PoE
  • Reolink TrackMix

Common Causes

  • WiFi router restarted — camera lost its IP address
  • Camera out of WiFi range
  • Power interruption left camera unresponsive
  • Reolink app not updated after firmware change
  • PoE switch or NVR lost connection to the camera

How to Fix It

  1. Power-cycle the camera.

Unplug the camera's power cable (or PoE cable), wait 15 seconds, and reconnect. For battery models, hold the power button for 5 seconds to restart. Wait 60 seconds for the camera to fully reconnect.

  2. Restart your router.

Unplug the router for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Wait 2 minutes for the network to stabilise. A router restart often resolves IP address conflicts that take cameras offline.

  3. Check WiFi signal.

In the Reolink app, open the camera and go to Device Settings > WiFi Signal. A signal below -70 dBm is too weak for reliable operation. Move the camera closer to the router or install a WiFi extender.

  4. Assign a static IP address.

Frequent offline issues after router restarts are often caused by the router assigning a new IP each time. Log in to your router admin page and reserve a static IP for the camera's MAC address. This prevents IP address changes that take the camera offline.

  5. Re-add the camera if still offline.

If the camera is still offline after power cycling, delete it from the Reolink app and re-add it as a new device. Follow the in-app setup prompts — this takes about 5 minutes.
