What Does This Error Mean?

Wyze motion alerts stop when push notifications are disabled in the app or phone settings, or when the detection sensitivity is too low. Check both the Wyze app notification settings and your phone's app notification permissions.

  • Motion sensitivity set too low — misses small or slow-moving objects
  • Detection zone excludes the area of interest
  • Wyze Cam Plus subscription required for person/vehicle detection alerts

How to Fix It

  1. Check Wyze app account notification settings.

    Open the Wyze app and tap Account > Notifications. Make sure Push Notifications are toggled on. Also confirm notifications are enabled for the specific camera under Device Notifications.

  2. Check phone-level permissions.

    On iPhone: Settings > Wyze > Notifications — ensure Allow Notifications is on. On Android: Settings > Apps > Wyze > Notifications — ensure all notification categories are enabled. Phone-level permission overrides the in-app setting.

  3. Increase motion sensitivity.

    In the Wyze app, go to the camera's Settings > Detection Settings. Increase the Motion Sensitivity slider — try 70 or above. Walk in front of the camera to confirm it triggers an alert.

  4. Review the detection zone.

    Go to Settings > Detection Settings > Detection Zone. Make sure the highlighted zone covers the area you want to monitor. An incorrectly drawn zone that excludes the doorway or entry path will miss all alerts.

  5. Check if a Cam Plus subscription is needed.

    Smart detection alerts (person, vehicle, pet, package) require a Wyze Cam Plus subscription. Basic motion alerts are free, but if you have smart detection turned on without a subscription, alerts may not fire. In the app, check Account > Services to see your subscription status.
