Not Connecting to WiFi

Eufy Smart Doorbell

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

Eufy doorbells connect to 2.4 GHz WiFi only — not 5 GHz. Switch your phone to the 2.4 GHz band before pairing and follow the eufy Security app setup. If pairing fails, reset the doorbell and try again.

Affected Models

  • Eufy Video Doorbell 2K
  • Eufy Video Doorbell E340
  • Eufy Video Doorbell S330
  • Eufy Video Doorbell Wired

Common Causes

  • Phone or router on 5 GHz only during setup
  • Incorrect WiFi password entered
  • Doorbell too far from router during initial pairing
  • eufy Security app needs updating
  • Doorbell needs reset to clear a stale pairing

How to Fix It

  1. Switch your phone to 2.4 GHz.

Eufy doorbells are 2.4 GHz only. In your phone's WiFi settings, select the 2.4 GHz band — usually the network name without a '5G' or '_5GHz' suffix. Keep the phone on this network throughout the entire setup.

  2. Update the eufy Security app.

Outdated app versions can cause pairing failures. Update via the App Store or Google Play before starting setup.

  3. Start setup in the eufy Security app.

Open the app, tap the plus icon, and select your doorbell model. Follow the on-screen prompts — the app will ask you to scan a QR code with the doorbell camera or press the doorbell's reset button.

  4. Enter WiFi credentials carefully.

Type your 2.4 GHz WiFi password exactly — it is case-sensitive. If you recently changed your WiFi password, make sure you are using the new one.

  5. Reset and retry if pairing fails.

Hold the reset button on the doorbell for 10 seconds until you hear a chime. Repeat the setup from the beginning. Make sure the doorbell is within 3 metres of the router during the pairing process.
