Doorbell Not Ringing

Eufy Smart Doorbell

Severity:

What Does This Error Mean?

If pressing the Eufy doorbell button produces no chime, check the HomeBase or indoor chime volume in the eufy Security app, confirm the indoor chime is not muted, and make sure Do Not Disturb is not active.

Affected Models

  • Eufy Video Doorbell 2K
  • Eufy Video Doorbell E340
  • Eufy Video Doorbell S330
  • Eufy Video Doorbell Wired

Common Causes

  • HomeBase chime volume set to zero or muted
  • Do Not Disturb mode active in the eufy Security app
  • Indoor chime not linked to the doorbell in the app
  • Existing mechanical chime not compatible with Eufy Wired Doorbell
  • Phone notification permissions disabled

How to Fix It

  1. Check the chime volume in the app.

Open the eufy Security app, tap the doorbell, and go to Chime Settings. Make sure the HomeBase chime is not muted and the volume slider is above zero. Test by pressing the doorbell button.

  2. Check Do Not Disturb.

In the eufy Security app, go to Me > Do Not Disturb. If enabled, all chimes and notifications are silenced. Disable it and re-test.

  3. Verify the chime device is linked.

Go to the doorbell's Device Settings > Linked Devices and confirm the HomeBase or indoor chime is shown as linked. If it is missing, re-add it from this screen.

  4. Check wired chime compatibility.

Eufy Wired Doorbell works with most 8–24V AC mechanical chimes. If your existing chime does not ring, it may be incompatible. Check the Eufy compatibility list on the product support page. Adding the included diode can resolve buzzing or non-ringing issues with older chimes.

  5. Enable push notifications as a fallback.

In Device Settings > Notification Settings, enable push notifications. Your phone will alert you whenever the button is pressed even if no physical chime rings.
