What Does This Error Mean?

BUFFER_1 means your Fire Stick cannot load video data fast enough to keep playback running smoothly. It is constantly waiting for the next chunk of video to arrive. This is almost always caused by a slow internet connection, a weak Wi-Fi signal, or a problem with the streaming service's servers. Improving your Wi-Fi signal or reducing internet usage elsewhere usually fixes it.

How to Fix It

Lower the video quality in the app settings. In Prime Video, Netflix, or other streaming apps, go to the app's settings and select a lower quality level — 480p or 720p instead of 1080p or 4K.

Lower quality video needs much less bandwidth. Switching from 4K to 1080p can cut bandwidth requirements from 25 Mbps down to 5 Mbps.
Restart your Fire Stick and router. Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, then go to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart on your Fire Stick.
