What Does This Error Mean?

Kasa energy monitoring data not appearing or updating is most often caused by the plug being offline, the app not refreshing, or using a Kasa model that does not include energy monitoring. Energy monitoring is only available on Kasa EP25, KP115, and KP125M — not on basic plug models like TP15 or EP10.

How to Fix It

  1. Confirm your Kasa plug model supports energy monitoring. Open the Kasa app, tap the plug, and check whether an Energy tab or kWh reading appears. If there is no Energy section, the plug model does not have this feature.

    Only Kasa EP25, KP115, and KP125M include energy monitoring hardware. Basic Kasa plugs (EP10, EP25 without the energy variant) cannot track power consumption.

  2. Check that the plug shows as Online in the Kasa app. Energy data only syncs when the plug has a live cloud connection.

  3. Pull down to refresh the Kasa app home screen. Energy readings update every 2–5 minutes — they do not refresh in real time.

  4. If energy history graphs are blank, close the Kasa app fully, reopen it, and tap the Energy tab again. The app sometimes fails to load historical data on first open.
