Temperature Not Reading
Ultrahuman Smart Ring
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
Ultrahuman Ring skin temperature readings fail when the ring does not have at least 3 hours of wear data, the ring is too loose, or the finger is cold. Wear the ring for a full night — overnight temperature data is the most reliable.
Affected Models
- Ultrahuman Ring Air
Common Causes
- Not enough wear time — temperature needs several hours of continuous contact to establish a baseline
- Ring too loose — sensor loses consistent contact with the skin
- Finger cold or recently exposed to cold water
- Ring not worn overnight — temperature deviation is measured against a nightly baseline
- Firmware issue preventing temperature logging
How to Fix It
-
Wear the ring overnight — temperature readings rely on a nightly baseline.
The Ultrahuman Ring measures skin temperature primarily during sleep to build a personal baseline. Daytime deviations are compared to this baseline. If you just started wearing the ring, you need at least one full night of data.
-
Ensure the ring fits snugly on the correct finger.
The temperature sensor needs continuous skin contact to measure accurately. A loose ring that shifts during sleep will produce missing or inconsistent readings.
-
Warm your finger before checking — cold extremities suppress readings.
If your hands are cold (after being outdoors in winter, for example), skin temperature measurements will be lower and may not register clearly. Allow your hands to warm up indoors before checking.
-
Sync the ring with the Ultrahuman app.
Temperature data is processed during sync. Open the app and pull down to sync. If temperature data from the previous night is missing, syncing usually retrieves it.
-
Update the firmware and restart the ring.
Open the Ultrahuman app > Device > Firmware Update. After updating, leave the ring to charge for 30 minutes, then resume wearing it for a full night.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to get the first temperature reading?
Ultrahuman needs at least one full night of wear to establish a temperature baseline. Temperature deviation data (shown as positive or negative degrees) appears the morning after your first overnight wear.
What temperature change is considered significant?
A deviation of more than 0.5°C (0.9°F) from your personal baseline is flagged by Ultrahuman as potentially noteworthy. Small fluctuations of under 0.3°C are within the normal range.
