Wi-Fi Not Connecting
Hisense Smart TV
Severity: ModerateWhat Does This Error Mean?
Hisense TV Wi-Fi issues are usually caused by an incorrect password, connecting to the wrong band, or a router and TV both needing a restart. Restart both the TV and router and try again.
Affected Models
- Hisense U6K
- Hisense U7K
- Hisense U8K
- Hisense A6K
- Hisense Roku TV
- Hisense VIDAA TV
Common Causes
- Wrong Wi-Fi password entered
- TV connecting to 2.4GHz band with congestion — try 5GHz
- Router's DHCP not assigning an IP address
- Wi-Fi security mode incompatible (try WPA2)
- MAC address filtering on router blocking the TV
- TV's Wi-Fi module needs a reset
How to Fix It
-
Restart both the TV and the router.
Unplug the router for 30 seconds, then unplug the TV. Plug the router back in first and wait for it to fully restart. Then plug the TV back in and try connecting.
-
Forget the network and reconnect.
Settings → Network → Wi-Fi → select your network → Forget. Then reconnect and enter the password carefully — check Caps Lock.
-
Try connecting to your router's 5GHz network.
Most routers broadcast two networks (2.4GHz and 5GHz). The 5GHz band has less congestion and often connects more reliably. Look for the network name ending in _5G or 5GHz.
-
Assign a static IP to the TV.
Settings → Network → IP Settings → Static. Enter an IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.100), subnet mask (255.255.255.0), and your router's gateway address. This bypasses DHCP issues.
-
Factory reset the network settings.
Settings → Support → Self Diagnosis → Reset Network Settings. This resets all network configuration without resetting the whole TV.
